WorkSkills Training Center partners with businesses throughout the community to provide paid training and employment opportunities for individuals with I/DD. The goal of this program is to train and prepare individuals for careers in the community.
To help ensure community employment success, a variety of work skills and training positions is available to program participants. Utilizing a person-centered approach—which includes an individualized goal plan and positive reinforcement for accomplishments—program participants receive support to reach their goals. Participants are also guided in navigating business and social relationships and situations.
A variety of projects allow for different paid training and employment opportunities based on skills and interests. Projects include packaging, assembly, fulfillment, shrink-wrapping, warehouse assistance and heat-sealing.
NorthPointe’s warehouse provides full warehousing services (storage, pick- and- pack, delivery, etc.) for customers, which results in a variety of paid training and job opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing warehousing as a career.
