NorthPointe Resources Holds its Annual Appreciation Reception

ZION, IL / The Shanty was the location chosen for NorthPointe’s 2017 Annual Appreciation Reception. This event is held to honor and celebrate the donors, volunteers, board of directors, staff, program participants and community partners  for the outstanding contributions they have made in the past year to support NorthPointe’s mission. “It is such a pleasure to celebrate the wonderful people who make NorthPointe a success,” stated Robert Johnson, NorthPointe’s Board President.

NorthPointe CEO Dina Donohue-Chase addresses guests during her welcome speech.

The evening began with mingling and cocktails, followed with a welcome speech given by the organization’s CEO Dina Donohue-Chase. “There are two reasons we chose The Shanty for our dinner tonight. First, because of their wonderful food; and second, The Shanty is interested in purchasing our hydroponically grown Micro-greens. And that is not all we have to celebrate,” said Ms. Donohue, “we successfully launched a SOARR website and expanded the SOARR Behavioral Health Services to include Youth and Young Adults. In addition, we established a new art program called ART360 as an opportunity for our talented artists to showcase their work. We are happy to report that two corporations have commissioned artwork for their offices already, and our website now features paintings for sale,” continued Ms. Donohue.

A wonderful dinner was next on the agenda, after which came one of the highlight of the evening, recognizing the accomplishments of Corey P., “Program Participant of the Year.” Cory gave a wonderful acceptance speech thanking his staff and friends with great appreciation for the positive effect they have on his life.

This year outstanding parents and business and community partners received original artwork by NorthPointe’s artist for their support and contributions. Among the recipients were Jewel-Osco President Doug Cygan, who received the “Hall of Fame” award for his 15 years of support of NorthPointe’s mission; State Representative Sheri Jesiel the “You Make a Difference Award”; Diana Durkes from Lake Forest’s Forest and Found received the “Community Spirit Award”; and Renee Baldwin, Lake Bluff’s Upscale Rummage Sale was awarded the “Appreciation Award”.

The announcing of the Employee of the Year, Ms. Cissy Moss followed. “It’s employees like Cissy, whose dedication and passion for the people we support that exemplifies our mission,” stated Dina Donohue-Chase.

“This year’s dinner was a truly sensational and inspiring celebration of all that our donors and community partners do for social good when they support NorthPointe,” Director of Strategic Advancement Kathy Greco stated. “NorthPointe supports choices for people with disabilities and those with mental illness through innovative services and strategic collaborations, assisting those we support to live and work in the community,” Ms. Greco continued, “when we come together we can transform lives and make a difference every day.”
