REPORTS TO: Program Services Manager
JOB SUMMARY: To broaden program and service options to meet the diversified needs of program participants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Acts as a conduit between Program Services and the vocational QMRP’s (qualified mental retardation professional) through effective communication to assure a team approach to client-centered programming.
2. Creates a Master Note Book containing methodologies, goal data and client related information and tracks information to assure that all required paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
3. Gathers monthly, quarterly and/or annual data and assists in the writing of drafts and final reports.
4. Works professionally and effectively with staff and sources outside of NRI
5. Interviews applicants and recommends for hire/non-hire
6. Trains Program Services staff in the day-to-day operations, work-related behaviors and work skills and assists with DSP (direct services professional training) and OJT’s (on the job training).
7. Completes assigned staff evaluations according to their evaluation schedule.
8. Addresses issues/problems concerning any of his/her staff and provides timely and progressive discipline measures.
9. Keeps staff informed of departmental/agency developments.
10. Attends a minimum of one (1) individual staffing per month of the staff that they supervise.
11. Educate, promote and provide support to individuals in making healthy lifestyle choices, as referenced in the DSP health and safety and health and nutrition training curriculums and/or service plans.
12. Identify and utilize effective advocacy strategies to overcome the diverse challenges facing individuals, i.e., human rights, legal, administrative and financial.
13. Ensures safety of all staff and all clients under his/her supervision
14. Assures that the physical plant layout is conducive to the safe and efficient provision
15. Assists with behavior programs and behavioral issues.
16. Assists in the development of program curriculum and resources.
17. Assures the completion of industrial recording, invoicing and inventories in conjunction with the Outsource Department and the Program Services Manager.
18. Maintains production notebook with all task analysis, time studies, job codes, etc
19. The employee may be asked to perform other duties as required by the employer’s business needs.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Participates in at least two (2) Northpointe agency committees annually.
2. Attends all mandatory training.
3. Assists with personal care when needed.
PHYSICAL & VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
2. Ability to see accurately both near and far
3. Ability to walk, bend, twist, kneel, and stoop
4. Ability to accurately manipulate small objects accurately using fine motor skills
5. Ability to drive to various locations as needed, adapting to various weather conditions
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree in Human Services or other related field preferred
2. Valid/acceptable driver’s license required
3. 2-3 years of related experience plus, 1 years of supervisory experience required
4. Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities
5. Ability to communicate in a professional manner
6. Computer skills, preferably Word and Excel
