Description:

REPORTS TO:      Outsource Manager

JOB SUMMARY:     Provides supervision for production and vocational training for adults with disabilities and assures quality production goals are met.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.    Organizes and sets up production floor work stations to assure efficient running production.
2.    Help individuals improve job skills and perform contract work.
3.    Offer and track work opportunities to individuals, providing any adaptive techniques necessary.
4.    Train and assists vocational supervisors on contract/subcontract work, discussing any adaptation techniques developed and assisting with any issues that may arise
5.    Works with HAB team to develop a person centered planning program for all individuals on team.
6.    Attend all mandatory training (DSP, Medication Administration), and in-services etc.
7.    Maintains current certification in CPR, FA, and CPI.
8.    Assists individuals with work or behavior problems; documents and reports problems to the individuals QRMP.
9.    Uses creativity and artistic skills to provide structured training of job skills during activity time.
10.    Enters payroll, goal data and outgoing production count on a daily basis.
11.    Educate, promote and provide support to individuals in making healthy lifestyle choices, as referenced in the DSP health and safety and health and nutrition training curriculums and/or service plans.
12.    Identify and utilize effective advocacy strategies to overcome the diverse challenges facing individuals, i.e., human rights, legal, administrative and financial.
13.    Works with Warehouse Supervisor, documenting all items received from or sent to the warehouse.
14.    Assures safety and security of all individuals by maintaining a safe and secure production area.
15.    Meets production quotas daily and documents count in the production book.
16.    Be able to problem solve machinery issues.  If a problem can’t be remedied notify Outsource Manager.
17.    Assures quality of all completed production work before it leaves the production floor and is sent to the warehouse.
18.    Assists with any behavioral issues when needed.
19.    Assists with setting-up or providing social activities for individuals.
20.    The employee may be asked to perform other duties as required by the employer’s business needs.

PHYSICAL & VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.    Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
2.    Ability to see accurately both near and far
3.    Ability to walk, bend, twist, kneel, and stoop
4.    Ability to accurately manipulate small objects accurately using fine motor skills
5.    Ability to drive to various locations as needed, adapting to various weather conditions

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.    Substitute for off-site enclave which includes possible evening hours 
2.    Keeps abreast of developments in the field by attending seminars, etc.
3.    Covers for other supervisors during absence as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Meet criteria of the reading (TABE) and math survey
  • Experience in a vocational rehabilitation setting preferred, sales experience a plus
  • Experience in production work and quality assurance
  • Experience / knowledge of handmade greeting card assembly required
  • High level of creativity / working with crafts required
  • Experience working with people who have developmental disabilities or mental illness preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Office
